How Often Should a Small Business Send a Newsletter? (Don’t you DARE stop writing your newsletter)
Long ago, before my copywriting company took off, I had a therapist who told me something I’ll never forget:
She said, “Your words will change lives.”
Back then, almost twenty years ago, I had zilch for confidence. And I even had some haters!!
I SOOOO clearly remember sending out my very first newsletter, and one of my clients wrote back and said something like…
“Don’t be so hype-y.”
Ouch.

The thing was—I had never written something so true.
And it wasn’t hype. It was excitement.
So I ignored her and kept writing.
And thank GOD I did. Turns out, my “hype-y” writing ended up being read and loved by millions of people…
Allowing me to pay off my student loans early, buy a car in cash, pay off my medical debt…to the tune of $90,000. And STAY debt-free, take 4 months off this year, hire a team, and grow my business, and occasionally buy dumb things like $200 jeans.
And—I got to help lord knows how many thousands of people change THEIR lives, thanks to the goods / services I helped my clients sell.
AND! My clients and I were able to use that profit to donate millions to charity.
So yeah. Today's Newsletter PSA?
About how YOUR words will change lives?
And why I say “Don’t dare stop writing your newsletter”?
It's because your words WILL change lives.
They already have. And they’ll change a heckuva lot more if you learn to write copy in a way that moves people to take action. (As in, buy your stuff.)
Don’t forget.
Your list signed up because they wanted to hear from you.
They LIT-trally raised their hand and said they wanted to hear from you.
And I’m willing to wager that you have something to sell that could help a lot of them live a MUCH better life…
If you consistently emailed them and nurtured them the right way.
But not willy-nilly. Never “content for the sake of content.”
(This is how you get people who “love this!” but never buy.)
I want you writing strategically.
Smartly.
Suave-ly.
This is the whole reason I created Revenue + Reach—as in, helping small businesses like yours make more REVENUE and REACH more lives.
So write your newsletter. Early in the week. Get it done. Get in the routine. I’m telling you it feels so good and you will get major adulting points….
Because if you don’t prioritize writing to your list, your list might never see why they should prioritize what YOU sell. (And this is your hottest pool o’ potential clients!!!)
That’s it for now. Signing off.
Love, your accountability-partner-in-crime, cheerleader, and newsletter wingman,
Gio
